Greentario: Strong Hamilton community supporter
Award-winning LO member Greentario of Hamilton has supported a number of great causes in its community.
One cause is the Bob Kemp Hospice, where along with suppliers, Greentario was able to donate around $40,000 of material and labour. Another is a local retirement home, Villa Italia, where Greentario donated $25,000 in support of the facility. “Today it is at capacity with a waiting list to get in,” says Carmine E. Filice CLP, partner in Greentario.
Filice also volunteers on the home’s management board, the steering committee for the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion, and is on the board of the Sons of Italy non-for-profit Housing Corporation. He has served as president of the Order Sons of Italy Trieste Lodge, Hamilton, for two years. Over the past 20 years, this lodge donated over $300,000 to local charity through its fundraising efforts. Company vice president Lou Filice is currently on the executive of the lodge and is seeking the position of vice president in the June election.
Elementary school Immaculate Heart of Mary built a peace garden in memory of two students who passed away from cancer. Greentario donated and built the stage facade at $5,000.
Greentario is proud supporters through sponsorship of the following: Newman Youth Basketball, Saltfleet Go Ahead Soccer, C.Y.O. Hamilton, annual Bishop’s Dinner, annual Trillium Dinner at Liuna Station in Hamilton, Good Shepherd, and St. Elizabeth Home Society for Seniors.
